Brian Kelly reflects on Kyren Lacy following his passing

LSU football head coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media after spring practice on Tuesday morning and took some time to reflect on the recent passing of former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy.

“Kyren was a bright star. He had an incredible personality. I’ll remember him as somebody that had a love for the game. A love for being a Tiger and was a guy that played with great emotion. When you think of Kyren, you’re going to smile most of the time because of the way he handled himself. He was a guy that was full of energy. And I think a lot of his teammates will remember him that was as well,” Kelly said.

Kelly and Lacy both joined the LSU program in 2022. Lacy was a member of Kelly’s first transfer class after Lacy spent the first two years of his career at Louisiana. Kelly coached Lacy, a native of Thibodaux, LA, for three years seasons.

“We’re saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former LSU football student-athlete Kyren Lacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, as well as his former teammates and coaches impacted by his passing,” said LSU in an official statement on Sunday afternoon.
