Alabama softball moved up five spots in national polls after its Southeastern Conference series win over Oklahoma at Rhoads Stadium.
The Crimson Tide moved from No. 22 to being tied with Duke for the No. 17 spot in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll that was released on Tuesday. Alabama and Duke both received 195 votes.
Alabama (30-16, 7-8 SEC) dropped its series opener with Oklahoma, 5-1, behind a five-run seventh inning for the Sooners. Alabama leveled the series with a 6-1 win on Sunday, claiming the series on Monday night behind an eighth inning Audrey Vandagriff walk-off home run. It marks the second conference series win of the season for Alabama.
Alabama is one of 12 SEC teams ranked in the poll, alongside Texas A&M (1), Tennessee (2), Texas (3), Oklahoma (4), Florida (7), LSU (9), Arkansas (10), South Carolina (12), Mississippi State (15), Ole Miss (20) and Georgia (23).
Alabama softball is back on the road this weekend, travelling to Gainesville, Florida, for a three-game conference series with Florida between Thursday, April 17 and Saturday, April 19.
