Purdue football coach Barry Odom caps spring season

WEST LAFAYETTE — For the second time in his Purdue football career, Jamari Payne is in the transfer portal.
The redshirt freshman defensive end entered the transfer portal after last season following a coaching change.
Payne ultimately withdrew his name on Dec. 20 and went through the Boilermakers’ first spring camp under Barry Odom.
On Monday, Payne posted on social media he’d be entering the portal.
In his first season with the Boilermakers, Payne redshirted last fall and did not play after coming to Purdue as a three-star prospect from Auburn, Alabama. He maintains four years of eligibility.
