Pro Football Focus has ranked their top 10 college football safeties entering the 2025 season and Georgia Bulldogs safety KJ Bolden was ranked fifth on the list. He is one of only two sophomores on the entire list.
With another offseason and spring practice under his belt, the former five-star recruit will look improve upon his freshman year stats. Last season, he posted 59 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one interception.
The Bulldogs are looking to reload on defense, especially in the safety room, following the departures of Malaki Starks and Dan Jackson. Bolden was a very important piece in his first season where he was essentially a third starting safety alongside Dan Jackson and Malaki Starks.
Bolden enters the spring as a leader for the 2025 Georgia defense. This spring was critical for his development on vocal leadership as Kirby Smart and Glenn Schumann will lean on him and Daylen Everette to lead the secondary.
“Mental and physical toughness, I think, is one of the number one areas that we can get better at, grow, have more guys that can play winning football,” said Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart following UGA’s spring game.
