Texas A&M’s 2025 spring season will end after Saturday’s annual Maroon & White spring game. The Aggies will enter the summer focused on preparing for fall camp, and the 2025 season will kick off against UTSA in Kyle Field on Saturday, August 30.
It’s hard to say that actual progress has been made over the last month, as is the case for every spring season, but it’s clear that Texas A&M’s 2025 roster is robust at several key positions. Depth issues could appear during SEC play if head coach Mike Elko doesn’t address them through the spring transfer portal.
However, Elko’s three 2025 team captains—junior linebacker Taurean York, senior left tackle Trey Zuhn III, and senior right guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams—are not just leaders in the locker room but are three of the top players at their position nationally. Both Zuhn and Reed-Adams could have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft and would have been high-to-mid-round selections.
During Wednesday’s final spring press conference before the spring game, Elko was asked about Ar’maj Reed-Adams’ importance on the roster, discussing his steadfast leadership, toughest, and most importantly, consistent energy.
“The energy. You saw a lot of that in the videos that got out last year. He’s an energetic guy.”
“He brings a lot of positive energy to the practices, workouts and games.”
According to Pro Football Focus, Reed-Adams was the best run blocker in the SEC during his first season with the Aggies, finishing with an 85.9 run-blocking grade and a 75.9 pass-blocking grade. Texas A&M’s offensive line is poised to be the program’s dominant strength, and combined with a loaded running back room, the Aggies, on paper at least, have a chance to lead the SEC in rushing, aided by Reed-Adams’ performance.
