Illinois football added another athlete from the transfer portal, bolstering its offensive line.
Southeast Missouri State transfer Tyler McMillan announced his commitment to Illinois via social media on Saturday.
The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder has two years of eligibility remaining according to 247Sports and will add depth to the Fighting Illini, which return all five of their starting offensive line.
Illinois football transfer portal: Winter window | Spring window
McMillan is the second offensive lineman headed to Illinois from the portal, joining Aiden Knapik of Idaho, who committed in January. McMillan is the first to commit from the portal to Illinois this spring after 11 athletes did so in the winter window.
Before SEMO, McMillan played at Northwestern State and Mississippi Valley State and had committed to Tulsa out of high school, according to 247 Sports. He played high school football in River Rouge, Michigan, under coach Corey Parker — now a defensive backs coach for Illinois.
