Colorado football lands Auburn transfer Terrance Love

Deion Sanders said on Saturday that he wanted to add a safety during the spring transfer portal period, and he nabbed the top one in the portal that Sunday morning.

Former Auburn safety Terrance Love, who visited Colorado for Saturday’s spring game, announced his commitment to the Buffaloes. Love joins cornerback Teon Parks as two players who attended the spring game and have since committed.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety played in 22 games for the Tigers the past two seasons. He will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Buffs.

In over 100 snaps for Auburn, Love never allowed a pass while in coverage, according to Pro Football Focus. He recorded eight tackles and one pass breakup during his two seasons. Love seems to be more of a free safety patrolling the back end of the defense rather than a hard-hitting safety playing near the line of scrimmage.

The former four-star prospect from the 2023 class was a top-30 recruit in the recruiting hotbed of Georgia. He joins a safety group that includes Carter Stoutmire and spring game standouts Tawfiq Byard and TJ Branch.

Love is the fourth commitment to Colorado this spring following Parks, wide receiver Sincere Brown and offensive lineman Xavier Hill.
