Colorado’s spring game was Saturday afternoon meaning it was a big recruiting weekend for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.
Not even an hour after the scrimmage ended, Colorado secured the commitment from transfer portal cornerback Teon Parks. The Buffs hosted the FCS cornerback on a visit this weekend and did not let him leave the building with several Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC schools also looking for his signature.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Parks racked up 45 tackles, 11 pass breakups and an interception last year with Illinois State. Opposing quarterbacks completed less than 40% of their passes when targeting Parks. The Redbirds were a solid FCS program in 2024 finishing with a 10-4 record and making the playoffs.
Parks was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and will have two years of eligibility remaining with Colorado.
Colorado seems fairly set at the cornerback position with DJ McKinney, Colton Hood, Preston Hodge and RJ Johnson, but the team is looking for some added experience. During Saturday’s spring game, the CU secondary was called for several pass interference penalties a trend that the coaching staff won’t want to continue this fall.
Parks’ commitment is Colorado’s third transfer portal addition this spring following wide receiver Sincere Brown and offensive lineman Xavier Hill.
