It’s only April and we know that Mike Elko doesn’t value recruiting rankings much, but the Aggies hold the #4 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle.

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is contending for the No. 1 spot in the overall class rankings by the end of the year. By all accounts, that goal is much closer heading into the summer, where coach Mike Elko and his staff will host a long and highly talented list of potential commitments, including five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown, who was back in College Station during the Maroon & White spring game.
Elko’s recruiting chops are close to or equal to former head coach Jimbo Fisher, as the Aggies landed a commitment from 2027 four-star wide receiver George Lamons Jr., who attended the spring game, followed by flipping elite 2026 four-star cornerback Victor Singelton, who was previously committed to Illinois, and became the second Ohio-based prospect paried with four-star linebacker Storm Miller to choose Texas A&M over Ohio State.
While Texas A&M defensive back coaches Jordan Peteron and Ishmael Aristide deserve the most credit for landing Singelton, Elko’s entire coaching staff has proven to be some of the best recruiters in the country, leading to a significant rise in the 247Sports 2026 recruiting rankings.
After landing Singleton, Texas A&M’s 2026 cycle is now ranked 4th nationally with the third highest average commit rating (92.73) behind Oregon (93.55) and LSU (94.53). Even without a five-star commit, all of A&M’s 11 commits are considered blue-chip four-star prospects, which is mightily impressive for any program at this time of the year.
