Vols ‘scheduled’ to host transfer from Big Ten with SEC experience

The NCAA transfer portal will remain open through Friday. Tennessee is in search to add to its 2025 football roster with transfer portal players.

The Vols are scheduled to host redshirt junior defensive lineman Marcus Burris Jr.

“Tennessee is scheduled to bring in Indiana transfer defensive lineman Marcus Burris Jr. for a visit, his agent Kyle Logan of Delta Sports tells On3,” Pete Nakos of On3 announced.

Burris Jr. entered the NCAA transfer portal on April 18.

The 6-foot-5, 286-pound defensive lineman played at Indiana from 2023-24. He appeared in 25 games for the Hoosiers and totaled 34 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks and one block. Indiana played in the College Football Playoff last season.

Burris Jr. transferred to Indiana from Texas A&M. He appeared in nine games for the Aggies in 2022, recording one quarterback hurry and one tackle. Burris Jr. earned a redshirt as a true freshman in 2021.

He was a four-star prospect from Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas.
