Colorado and Deion Sanders are coming off a successful recruiting weekend, during which they landed two commitments from players who visited, safety Terrance Love and cornerback Teon Parks. The Buffs are now pursuing another top transfer portal player.
Former BYU wide receiver and All-American return specialist Keelan Marion announced on X that he received an offer from Colorado, and On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Marion is working on lining up a visit to Boulder.
Marion racked up 24 receptions for 346 yards and one touchdown in 2024 with the Cougars. The 6-foot receiver also had 21 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Marion is a four-star transfer according to 247Sports and began his collegiate career with the UConn Huskies. His best year as a receiver was his freshman season, when he totaled 474 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2021.
Colorado will have competition for Marion’s signature, as the former All-American has interest from 19 schools since entering the transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Marion himself has announced offers from SMU, Miami, Arizona State, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida State, Baylor, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Syracuse.
With the departures of Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester, the return game needs a reset. Freshman Quentin Gibson and sophomore Isaiah Hardge returned kicks during Saturday’s spring game, but Sanders and company likely want more experience at the position.
