Oklahoma State football adds LB Darius Thomas from portal

STILLWATER — Using the past connections of its new coaching staff, Oklahoma State added some depth to its linebacker position group.

Darius Thomas, who spent the spring at Louisville, committed to the Cowboys on Tuesday, according to 247Sports. Thomas played for first-year OSU linebackers coach Kap Dede at Western Kentucky prior to transferring to Louisville over the winter.

The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Thomas appeared in 21 games over three seasons at Western Kentucky, missing the 2023 season with an injury. He had 54 tackles with 6.5 for loss and 4.0 sacks as a redshirt sophomore last season.

Thomas brings depth and veteran experience to the linebacker group. Prior to his commitment, the Cowboys had 12 linebackers on the roster, nine of whom were freshmen or sophomores.

He is the fourth transfer to join the group, along with Brandon Rawls, Bryan McCoy and Trip White, all of whom arrived in January.
