Wisconsin football is a finalist to land top-ranked class of 2026 running back Amari Latimer. The Badgers are among a loaded group of six programs, along with Texas, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan and Tennessee.
Latimer currently has visits scheduled to Wisconsin (May 30), Miami (June 6) and Texas (June 13), according to 247Sports. Given his trimmed-down final list, that Miami trip appears subject to change.
247Sports lists the Tyrone, Georgia, native as a four-star recruit, ranked specifically as the No. 284 player in the class of 2026, the No. 18 running back and the No. 30 player from his home state. The service has yet to log a prediction for his landing spot.
Of note, On3’s recruiting prediction machine currently lists Texas as the prohibitive favorite at 84.3%. While Wisconsin is in the running back’s group of finalists, the service gives the program a minuscule chance at landing a commitment.
Wisconsin’s class of 2026 currently ranks No. 34 nationally and No. 9 in the Big Ten with six players committed. The program’s current running back rotation includes top recruits Darrion Dupree and Dilin Jones, both of whom joined the program as four-star prospects in the class of 2024.
The Badgers would do well to add Latimer to their long history of top players at the position. However, they are set to face significant competition for his commitment, with several of the nation’s top blue bloods still in the mix.
