How Tulane transfer CB Rayshawn Pleasant fits with Tigers

Auburn football: Hugh Freeze talks roster management, transfer portal

Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze discusses roster management and the spring transfer portal window after A-Day on April 12 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

AUBURN — After losing four defensive backs to the spring transfer portal window, Auburn football finally added one Wednesday, as former Tulane cornerback Rayshawn Pleasant announced his commitment to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers on his personal Instagram account.

A rising redshirt junior, Pleasant is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining. He was unranked out of the portal by On3, but 247Sports listed him as a top-60 player at his position.

Despite any rankings, Pleasant was a starting cornerback on a top-20 pass defense nationally and did turn in a productive 2024. He logged 35 tackles, three pass breakups, one interception, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery in 13 games, and he also returned two kicks for touchdowns.

Now, Pleasant is the fourth addition to Auburn’s roster during the spring portal window, alongside Maryland transfer Caleb Wheatland, Florida A&M transfer James Ash and Liberty transfer Jay Hardy.
