Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is officially contending for the No. 1-ranked cycle by the end of the year, and after flipping four-star cornerback Victor Singelton, who was previously committed to Illinois, the Aggies’ 2026 class rose to 4th in the 247Sports class rankings and 6th in On3’s rankings.
On Wednesday, On3’s updated industry rankings focused on the SEC. Coach Mike Elko has received the praise he deserves for building what could end up being one of the most talented classes in A&M history. Five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown is set to take an official visit to College Station this summer and is slowly but surely trending toward committing to the Aggies over hometown LSU.
After Victor Singelton’s commitment, Texas A&M possesses the No. 2-ranked 2026 class in the SEC behind No. 1 LSU. All of the program’s 11 commitments are considered blue-chip four-star prospects, led by wide receiver Aaron Gregory. Here is how On3 writer Hunter Shelton describes the Aggies’ class.
“Mike Elko and Co. have wasted no time early in this cycle grabbing targets, and that spans both sides of the ball. Gregory is one of the country’s best playmaking wideouts, but the Aggies also have No. 6 running back Jonathan Hatton Jr., top-100 corner Victor Singleton — who flipped from Illinois this month — four-star EDGE Jordan Carter, blue-chip quarterback Helaman Casuga and touted WR Madden Williams in the fold, among others.”
Elko has addressed nearly every position for the future, while Jonathan Hatton’s choice of the Aggies over Oklahoma was one of the surprises of the cycle. This proves that prospects see Texas A&M as a future contender despite last season’s 1-4 finish, knowing that Elko’s impressive coaching staff all have bright futures that should result in success on the field during each player’s tenure with the program.
