MADISON – Cornerback Jay Harper is the latest Wisconsin football player to opt for a fresh start.
The redshirt freshman entered the transfer portal Wednesday, April 23, according to On3 and Badger247. The Alabama native reposted both reports of his departure to his page on X.
Harper’s departure is the first for the Badgers’ defense this spring. Harper didn’t play in any games last season and this spring was competing for playing time at the bottom of the depth chart with early enrollees Cairo Skanes and Jai’mier Scott.
The transfer portal spring period closes Friday, April 25.
