Nebraska football hosts top quarterback prospect before Husker Games

Class of 2027 Nebraska quarterback target Trae Taylor was in Lincoln on Thursday for one final visit before announcing his commitment on May 1. A video was posted to social media on Thursday.

Taylor is currently a four-star quarterback. He is the 11th overall player in the 2027 class, the top player in the state of Illinois, and the fourth-ranked quarterback in his class per Rivals rankings.

Taylor has been involved with Nebraska football throughout his recruitment. He has taken several visits to Lincoln, with the most recent one coming on March 27. On the national front, he most recently visited the Texas Longhorns on April 12.

The Huskers currently have no commitments in the 2027 recruiting class. Taylor has the potential to be a cornerstone of the class. While speaking to HighSchoolOnSI, the quarterback broke down why each school is a finalist and had nothing but good things to say about Nebraska’s coaching staff and facilities.

“A staff, as a whole, I connect the best here. And their sports broadcasting degree is top-notch. If you ask me, Nebraska has the best facilities in the country.”

Shortly after announcing his visit on social media, Bryan Munson of On3 placed a crystal ball prediction that the quarterback will commit to Nebraska on May 1.

The fact that he is visiting the Huskers this weekend is certainly a good sign. The program has been involved throughout the course of his recruitment, and it appears that they will be in until the end.
