Rutgers University Football schedule for 2025
Mohamed Toure’s time in a Rutgers football uniform is over.
The Scarlet Knights linebacker entered the NCAA transfer portal late Friday, according to On3.
Toure will be moving on after six years with the program. He entered the portal shortly before the current window to do so closed.
In 37 games with the Scarlet Knights, Toure had 168 tackles (22.5 for loss) with 13.5 sacks.
Toure, a team captain the previous two seasons, has been an impactful member of Rutgers’ defense, but has dealt with injuries in recent seasons.
The Pleasantville native missed the 2022 season with a torn ACL, returned in 2023 and finished with 93 tackles (93.5 for loss with 4.5 sacks) in his first season exclusively at linebacker after mostly playing defensive end.

Starting every game at linebacker, Djabome finished with a team-leading 105 tackles, including 7.5 for loss with 3.5 sacks.
Along with Djabome, Moses Walker is a candidate to be the Scarlet Knights’ other starting linebacker.
Rutgers’ younger depth at the position includes Abram Wright, Sam Robinson and DJ McClary among others.
Still, Toure’s loss is a considerable blow to a unit that underwent an overhaul in the offseason after multiple starters ran out of eligibility.
Toure’s return would’ve given the Scarlet Knights a dependable, productive leader in the middle of the defense.
