Terry Nwabuisi-Ezeala, a defensive line transfer from North Carolina, announced his commitment to Vanderbilt football April 25 via social media.
Nwabuisi-Ezeala is a true freshman from Germany who was originally signed with Wake Forest, but when coach Dave Clawson retired, he flipped to North Carolina. He enrolled early and went through spring ball with the Tar Heels but entered the transfer portal and landed with the Commodores.
Vanderbilt has several other international players on the roster, including two other German defensive linemen in Yilanan Ouattara and Linus Zunk. Zunk attended Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, the same as Nwabuisi-Ezeala.
He is the third defensive line transfer to join the team in the spring window, joining Jaylon Stone from Southeast Missouri and Mason Nelson from Western Michigan. The Commodores lost De’Marion Thomas, who transferred to Oklahoma State, and George Okorie, a freshman early enrollee who has not yet announced a destination, among their defensive line group.
