CLEMSON — Clemson football’s 2025 roster appears to be set.
The spring transfer portal closed April 25, and the Tigers lost only one player and did not add any. In the winter, they lost five players, the second fewest for a Power 4 program, and added three, the most they have ever landed in a cycle.
The lack of players entering the portal is a testament to the culture Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has created, where the Tigers emphasize the recruitment and development of high school players rather than using the portal to add a transfer and informing a current player to leave.
“It just shows that our process works regardless whether we’re recruiting a high school kid or recruiting a portal kid,” Swinney said after Clemson’s spring game on April 6. “We’re trying to get the right guys that really align with who we are, how we go about our business here, what the expectations are, what our core values are and also fit the role that we need them to.”
Here are all the players who left and joined Clemson football via the transfer portal this cycle.
Who transferred to Clemson football?
Jeremiah Alexander, LB: Alexander committed to Clemson on Jan. 8. He recorded eight tackles over three seasons with the Crimson Tide. He is a former five-star recruit who chose Alabama over Clemson out of high school and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Will Heldt, DL: Heldt committed to Clemson on Dec. 19. He recorded 56 tackles, including 10 for loss and five sacks, in his second year with the Boilermakers last season. According to Pro Football Focus, he logged 26 pressures with Purdue in 2024, which exceeded the total for every Clemson defensive lineman except for T.J. Parker. Heldt has two years of eligibility remaining.
