The Oregon Ducks started off the year with a scorching hot run on the recruiting trail, and it’s starting to look like they might heat up again and go on a run over the next month.
With elite prospects like 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell and 5-star QB Jared Curtis set to make their commitments public in a matter of weeks, Dan Lanning’s Ducks sit in prime position to add two of the best players in the nation to the 2026 class.
It also appears that they are in a good spot to land another 5-star prospect: EDGE Richard Wesley.
On3’s Steve Wiltfon placed a prediction this week for the 5-star EDGE to commit to Oregon over the likes of Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC. Originally a member of the 2027 class, Wesley reclassified to 2026 and is among the top players in the class, rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 20 overall player and the No. 3 EDGE.
Wesley was in Eugene over the weekend for the annual spring game and got to see what the Ducks’ atmosphere was like for a game day. It also didn’t hurt to be on campus when a program-record 10 players were selected in the 2025 NFL draft.
There is not yet a commitment date for Wesley, but at the moment in his recruiting process, Oregon looks like the team to beat.
