Superlatives from Colorado State football’s history in the NFL draft
A look at some of the most notable highlights of CSU’s history in the NFL draft.
Deion Sanders and Colorado football added a big-time receiver from the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Former Florida State receiver Hykeem Williams committed to the Buffaloes following a visit to Boulder, Colorado. Williams was the lone 247 Sports five-star composite signing for Mike Norvell at FSU but finished his career in Tallahassee, Florida, with just 21 catches for 267 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons.
Williams had 16 receptions for 187 yards and a touchdown last year as a sophomore. He projected to enter spring camp as a starter during his junior season, but injuries kept him from participating and eventually led to his entering the transfer portal on April 17.
Including Williams, Sanders has added five portal additions during the spring. Williams joins Campbell transfer Sincere Brown and Tulsa’s Joseph Williams as portal additions at the position since the end of the 2024 season.
Hykeem Williams — 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds — will have two years of eligibility remaining. Colorado has also added Liberty transfer quarterback Kaidon Slater and true freshman Julian Lewis to its team following the departure of Shedeur Sanders to the NFL. Williams will compete for playing time at receiver after Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester and Jimmy Horn Jr. were all selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
