Miami added more talent to its wide receiver room on Tuesday, picking up a commitment from Cincinnati transfer Tony Johnson.
Johnson, who shared his commitment on social media, is the third portal addition the Hurricanes have made at wide receiver. He joins CJ Daniels, who committed in the winter, and Keelan Marion, who committed Saturday.
Johnson, a 6-foot, 190-pound receiver, is no stranger to South Florida. He played three seasons at Florida Atlantic before transferring to Cincinnati before the 2024 season.
Last year, Johnson had 449 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 48 catches. He has 1,118 yards and 13 touchdowns on 108 career catches.
Johnson is an Ocala native and chose Miami over offers from FSU and UCF.
The Hurricanes are relying on a mix of transfers and up-and-coming receivers to fill the void left by departing receivers. Xavier Restrepo, Jacolby George, Sam Brown Jr. and Isaiah Horton all left in the offseason — the first three left for the NFL, while Horton transferred to Alabama.
