Arkansas football QB Taylen Green will need to develop chemistry with multiple new receivers during spring football, which begins March 10.

FAYETTEVILLE — The spring transfer portal closed last week, and while Arkansas football might still add another player in the coming days, the Razorbacks are pretty much set with their 2025 roster.

As it stands, Arkansas signed seven players out of the spring portal. Five of those additions play defense, with a wide receiver and quarterback also headed to Fayetteville later this summer.

With a majority of the portal movement in the rear-view mirror, here are five questions for Arkansas football based off their recent additions and departures.

Is KJ Jackson ready to be the backup quarterback for Arkansas football?

Jackson took a majority of the second-team reps during the spring, even before true freshman Madden Iamaleava transferred to UCLA. That move left no option other than Jackson to back up Taylen Green, who missed snaps in multiple games due to injury in 2024.

Then, Arkansas signed former Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson out of the portal. On the surface, it looks like a move designed to provide KJ with meaningful competition. Bobby Petrino recruited Trever out of high school when he was a four-star prospect.

However, the Hogs also needed to simply add a body to the room. Trever’s progression, and if he poses a challenge to KJ, will be s storyline to watch in fall camp.
