Tennessee received a commitment from the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday. Grand Valley State defensive lineman Josh Schell committed to the Vols with two years of eligibility remaining, according to On3.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive lineman entered the NCAA transfer portal April 17. He was offered a scholarship from Tennessee on April 27 when he visited the Vols.

“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” he announced.

Schell appeared in 21 games from 2023-24 at Grand Valley State. He totaled 46 tackles, three tackles for a loss, two sacks, seven pass deflections and one forced fumble. Grand Valley State competes in NCAA Division II.
