Spring practice is over and the spring transfer portal window has closed, but that hasn’t stopped Kansas State football from adding depth to its roster for 2025.

Coach Chris Klieman and his staff added both size and depth at running back Thursday with a commitment from former Southeastern Louisiana standout Antonio Martin. Martin had transferred to Louisiana Monroe in January, only to re-enter the portal last week, and K-State was quick to pounce.

Martin, a 5-foot-11, 220-pound redshirt sophomore, was the Southland Conference’s second-leading rushing last year in his only season at Southeastern Louisiana, totaling 1,228 yards, 11 touchdowns and a 5.3-yard average per carry. He also caught 18 passes for 73 yards as the Lions went 7-5 with a 6-1 conference record.

Martin originally signed with Georgia Tech out of Langston-Hughes High School in Atlanta, but after redshirting as a freshman, he transferred to Texas junior college powerhouse Blinn College where he rushed for 603 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.

He then made the jump from the FCS to FBS ranks at ULM before transferring again at the end of spring practice.

K-State already has a pair of quality backs in Dylan Edwards and Joe Jackson, but was looking for more of a power runner. The Wildcats signed 220-pounder Gabe Ervin as a transfer from Nebraska at the end of the 2024 season, but he was sidelined with an injury in the spring.

Martin is K-State’s third portal…
