Tennessee received a commitment from Colorado transfer defensive back Colton Hood on Friday.
“Colorado standout transfer DB Colton Hood has committed to Tennessee, Hayes Fawcett reports,” On3 announced.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback played in seven games, including one start, in his only season at Colorado in 2024. He totaled 24 tackles, two interceptions and six pass deflections for the Buffaloes.
Hood transferred to Colorado from Auburn. He played for the Tigers in 2023 as a freshman. Hood appeared in four games and recorded three tackles against Maryland in the 2023 Music City Bowl.
He is from Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia. Hood entered the NCAA transfer portal on April 25.
Tennessee will kick off its football season on Aug. 30 in the 2025 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. The Vols will face Syracuse at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Tennessee holds a 3-0 record all time against Syracuse.
