Archbishop Hoban football players Elbert Hill IV, Eli Lee, Tanner Mintz, Ace Brown and Nick Crawford reflect on a win over Buchtel in Akron.

The No. 1 defensive back in the 2026 recruiting class is off the board.

Archbishop Hoban cornerback Elbert Hill and coach Tim Tyrell confirmed the 5-foot-10, 175-pound junior has committed to USC.

Hill is the No. 1-ranked cornerback in the nation according to ESPN, Rivals and ON3.com and is a five-star recruit.

He is ranked 12th regardless of position in the nation by Rivals and 15th by ESPN.

Hill had more than 30 offers, including from Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Miami, Michigan and Notre Dame.
