Five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis is ready to make his college commitment. Curtis plans to announce his commitment on May 5. However, Curtis cancelled his final visits with Georgia and the Oregon Ducks ahead of his commitment.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback plays football for Nashville Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee. The 247Sports composite lists Curtis as the No. 2 recruit and the No. 1 quarterback nationally and the No. 1 prospect in Tennessee in the class of 2026.
Georgia faces a significant challenge from Oregon and former UGA assistant coach Dan Lanning. The Ducks have been among the nation’s best recruiting programs in recent seasons and have an abundant amount of name, image and likeness licensing funds.
Having earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors in Tennessee and the prestigious Mr. Football award in the fall, Curtis is a highly accomplished quarterback. In his junior season, he completed more than 70% of his passes for an impressive 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns. He threw three interceptions. He demonstrated his dual-threat ability by adding 637 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns.
Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have not signed a five-star quarterback since adding Justin Fields in class of 2018. Fields transferred to Ohio State after his freshman season.
