One of the Spartans highest-rated commits in the 2026 class will take an official visit to Michigan State later this month.
Three-star tight end Eddie Whiting announced on Tuesday that he’ll take an official visit to Michigan State on May 30. Whiting has been committed to Michigan State since early February and will now help recruit others to join the Spartans’ 2026 class during his official visit weekend.
Whiting ranks as the No. 26 tight end in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 2 player from South Dakota and No. 553 overall prospect in the class. White was originally a four-star prospect when he committed to Michigan State but his rating has slightly dropped over the past few months.
Michigan State beat out a number of big-time programs for Whiting’s verbal commitment. He holds offers from nearly 20 schools, including the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Washington, Washington State and UCLA.
