Wisconsin football signed Hawaii transfer wide receiver Dekel Crowdus on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
The Badgers extended an offer to the late transfer portal entry on April 26. Crowdus’ offer sheet also included Charlotte, Texas State, Coastal Carolina, Washington State, West Virginia, Utah and Arkansas.
Crowdus began his career at Kentucky, where he originally signed as a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 307 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 49 wideout. The 5-foot-10 receiver redshirted as a true freshman with the Wildcats before appearing in 20 games over the next two seasons, catching four total passes for 82 yards.
The Lexington, Kentucky, native then transferred to Hawaii for his redshirt junior season in 2024, during which he broke out with 204 yards and four touchdowns on 16 receptions (25.1 yards-per-reception). Those tallies came in only nine appearances.
Crowdus fills Wisconsin’s need for depth at the position after Mark Hamper and Quincy Burroughs each transferred out during the spring window. The Badgers were in pursuit of a collection of names, some of whom were ranked among the spring portal’s top players at the position. Crowdus’ commitment should stop Wisconsin’s remaining recruiting pursuits and finalize the team’s roster entering fall training camp.
The wide receiver is Wisconsin’s fifth transfer addition of the spring cycle, following long snapper Nick Levy, quarterback Hunter Simmons, tight end Lance Mason and offensive lineman Davis Heinzen. The…
