Michigan football didn’t have a large number of players who transferred out in the spring sessions, but it did see some departures. Perhaps the most surprising being the expected third running back in the rotation, Ben Hall, leaving just days before the spring game (he ended up at North Carolina).
Most of the players who left had found their destinations, but there are a few who were still looking for their destination of choice. And outgoing Wolverines lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti apparently found his new home on Friday.
After entering the transfer portal during spring ball, the offensive and defensive lineman (Lorenzetti started as an offensive lineman but moved over to defense during his time in Ann Arbor) took his time, but ultimately committed to Baylor on Friday.
The only transfers that have not yet chosen new homes as of yet are cornerback Ja’Den McBurrows and longsnapper Evan Boutorwick.
The Wolverines brought in 15 transfers during the offseason, with 12 coming during the winter months and three — two running backs and punter Luke Bauer — committing to the maize and blue after the conclusion of spring ball. Michigan ultimately had 30 former players leave via the portal.
