Nebraska football has in-home visit with running back DeZephen Walker

The Nebraska Cornhuskers continue to recruit one of the top running backs in the class of 2026. Huskers’ running backs coach EJ Barthel recently had an in-home visit with four-star recruit DeZephen Walker.

Walker is ranked as the 10th running back in the class of 2026 and the third overall player in his class from the state of Missouri, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Kansas and Nebraska are the front-runners in his recruitment, but Notre Dame and Kansas State have also been involved.

Last season, Walker had 176 carries for 957 yards and eight touchdowns for Raymore-Peculiar High School. He averaged 106.3 yards per game, according to statistics from MaxPreps.com. The back was thankful for the recent get-together.

‘Thank you @HuskerFootball and @CoachEJbarthel for stopping by to see me and my family, muchly appreciated!’

Nebraska’s class of 2026 has been slowly coming together. There are four commits, with linebacker Jase Reynolds as the most recent. A back like Walker would be a huge get for the Nebraska football program.
