Colorado offer North Alabama linebacker Shaun Myers

Colorado is continuing to look for linebacker depth in the transfer portal after missing out on BYU transfer Harrison Taggart last week.

The Buffaloes offered and are looking to bring former FCS linebacker Shaun Myers in on a visit as soon as tomorrow, according to Allen Trieu of 247 Sports. The transfer from North Alabama would come to Boulder with one year of eligibility remaining.

Myers is coming off a season where he only played two games for the Lions, but his 2023 season speaks to his upside. In that season, Myers played in all 11 games, totaling 58 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.

Myers is a tad undersized for an off-the-ball linebacker at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, but his athletic ability allows him to hang tight in coverage. A team caption at North Alabama, Myers would be a useful voice of leadership on a defense that lacks experience at spots.

Taggart’s commitment to Cal leaves head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes still searching for a linebacker to shore up their depth. While Myers might not be the flashiest add, there’s no doubt that he would be able to contribute on and off the field for Colorado.

Colorado maintains the No. 20 ranked transfer portal class in the country, which is second in the Big 12, according to 247 Sports.
