The Georgia Bulldogs were aggressive on the spring transfer portal additions, and they were able to get a high-profile add in Army Black Knights linebacker Elo Modozie. According to Pete Nakos of On3, Georgia LB Elo Modozie was ranked as the 10th most impactful transfer portal addition of the spring window, which is now closed.
Modozie, a four-star recruit from the class of 2023, played with Army for two seasons. In those two seasons, he increased his sacks totals from one in 2023 to 6.5 in 2024, showing some legitimate pass-rush upside. Modozie recorded more sacks last season thank any other player on Georgia’s roster and should make an immediate impact as a pass rusher and one special teams.
He has also been a special teams ace, blocking a punt for a touchdown in Army’s win over Holy Cross in 2023. Modozie also blocked a field goal against Rice in 2024. Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart love players that are willing to contribute on special teams.
Modozie joins UCF offensive lineman Waltclaire Flynn Jr., Illinois running back Josh McCray and Miami defensive lineman Joshua Horton as spring transfer portal additions for the Bulldogs. Georgia has the 24th best transfer portal class in the nation, per 247Spors and that’s largely due to their spring transfers.
