Wisconsin football added a commitment from class of 2026 linebacker Aden Reeder on Monday.
The three-star recruit is the program’s seventh overall addition to its class of 2026 and its first linebacker. 247Sports currently lists Reeder as the No. 601 recruit in the country, the No. 51 player at his position and the No. 25 player from his home state of Ohio. That composite standing is good for the second-highest of Wisconsin’s committed players, trailing only defensive lineman Carmelow Reed.
Notably, Reeder’s addition pushed the Badgers’ class from No. 43 nationally up to No. 38. The class still sits at No. 11 in the 18-team Big Ten Conference. As a better measure of class strength, Wisconsin’s average recruit rating of 87.38 ranks 16th in the conference, only above Northwestern (86.48) and Purdue (86.41). Reeder (rated 87.89) narrowly improved that standing.
Luke Fickell and his staff still have significant work left if the program is to threaten the top 25 ranking it’s held for each of the last two seasons. That standing won’t become a reality without a flurry of blue-chip commitments, something the program has yet to add to the class. For reference, the Badgers’ average recruit ranking was 88.92 in its program-best class of 2024, then 87.96 in 2025.
The upcoming June official visit weekends will again be key to Wisconsin’s recruiting efforts. Fans will hope that Reeder’s addition is the start of positive momentum entering the most critical stretch of the recruiting calendar.
