Today is the day where we find out if Notre Dame football will add another commitment to its 2026 recruiting class, as Georgia running back Jonaz Walton will make his verbal pledge.
The 5-foot, 9-inch and 205-pounder will make his selection from five schools: Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee, Florida and Alabama. Walton is regarded as one of the nation’s best running backs, ranking as the No. 124 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Like others before him, he’s already set up his official visits after his announcement, but Walton seems to know where he wants to go. Let’s take a look at some of the recruiting insiders, and who they believe he will pick later today.
Starting with Rivals, there are five total picks for him, and every single one of them is in favor of the Irish. They are the only site that gives fans the ability to make a decision as well, with 52% of their votes going to Notre Dame.
On3 isn’t quite as confident for the Irish as Rivals is, but they still have 81% of their insiders predicting that Walton will chose Notre Dame. 247Sports has just one projection, and that is also for the Irish.
After taking a look at where the majority of projections for Walton are, it very much looks like he will be joining Notre Dame’s 2026 recruiting class.
