Nebraska football season opener at Arrowhead Stadium to air on ESPN

The kickoff time and TV Network for the 2025 Nebraska football opener against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium were announced Tuesday. The game will be on Thursday, August 28, at 8:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on the campus of Cincinnati before being moved to the home of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Huskers and the Bearcats have only met on the football field once before, in 1906. Nebraska won that meeting by a 41-0 margin.

Cincinnati enters the 2025 season coming off a 5-7 record in the 2024 campaign. The Cornhuskers went 7-5 in 2024 and won their first bowl game since the 2015 San Francisco Bowl.

This will be Nebraska’s first game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium since the 2006 Big 12 Championship. Nebraska lost that game to the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 21-7.

Additional game times and television networks for the upcoming season are expected to be announced by the end of May.
