Wisconsin recruiting 2026 tight end Gavin Mueller commits to Colorado

Wisconsin football top class of 2026 target, tight end Gavin Mueller, committed to Colorado on Wednesday.

Mueller chose the Buffaloes over the Badgers, LSU Tigers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

247Sports lists the Wheaton, Illinois, native as a three-star recruit, ranked specifically as the No. 841 player in the class of 2026, the No. 42 tight end and the No. 18 recruit from his home state. The service notes that he took official visits to Wisconsin (April 23), Colorado (May 2) and LSU (May 9) before announcing his commitment. He is only the second addition to a Colorado class of 2026 that currently ranks No. 88 nationally.

Wisconsin, meanwhile, still stands at No. 38 in the national rankings with seven players committed. Given that Mueller was one of its top tight end targets, the program must now go back to the drawing board at the position. Tight end prospects set to visit Wisconsin, or already having completed their trip, include Dominick Barry, Jack Sievers, Jack Janda and Luke Sorensen. All are three-star recruits.
