Austin Anderson three-star safety Yaheim “Miami” Riley has committed to the Texas Longhorns. The 2026 prospect is the first recruit from the Austin area that has committed to Texas in the past three years.
Riley, the eighth commitment in the Texas Longhorns 2026 recruiting class, is a former Houston Cougars pledge. He backed off of his U of H commitment after a mid-April visit to Texas. The Texas coaching staff offered Riley in late March and Duane Akina has been working hard to get the three-star in the fold quickly.
Originally from south Florida, Riley didn’t play organized football until he moved to Texas when he was in middle school. But soon after taking up football, Texas became his dream school. Riley’s former high school coach Jahmal Fenner is now the Director of High School Relations at Texas.
Riley also knows former Longhorns Jahdae Barron, Andrew Mukuba and current DB Michael Taaffe from group training sessions over the years put on by Austin area with defensive back trainer Bernard “Bam” Blake.
