The Georgia Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts for the 2026 class received a boost earlier this week with an announcement from five-star tight end Mark Bowman. He revealed that Georgia is among his final seven schools alongside Miami, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas, Ohio State, and USC.
He’s drawn comparisons to former Georgia legend Brock Bowers. Bowman shares a lot in common with Bowers. Both players are from California and wear the No. 19 jersey. Bowman (6-foot-4, 230-pounds) is also a similar size to Bowers. 247Sports named Bowman’s player comparison as Brock Bowers.
Bowman is projected to follow in Bowers’ footsteps and commit to Georgia football. Landing Bowman would be a major recruiting win for coach Kirby Smart and UGA. Georgia tight ends coach Todd Hartley is the best tight ends recruiter in the nation.
Bowman plays high school football for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Mater Dei has one of the most competitive high school football programs in the country. Mater Dei is where Georgia standout running back Nate Frazier played in high school.
Continuing his recruitment process, Mark Bowman is scheduled to take his official visit with the Bulldogs on June 13. Georgia, along with the other schools in his top seven, has clearly signaled that securing this highly-touted tight end is a major priority for their 2026 recruiting efforts.
With a recent commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis it help the Bulldogs chances to get recruits since they know they’ll have a quarterback of the future in their signing class.
