NC State RB provides UNC football with bulletin board material

The hiring of Bill Belichick down to the college level in Chapel Hill spun heads. Some couldn’t believe it, some thought it was a joke, and some still think he is going to fail. However, there are plenty of players, coaches, analysts, and fans alike who are ready to see this “Belichick experiment” fail.

Like North Carolina needed more fuel to their already burning fire, rival NC State running back posted on social media a picture of him using a picture from coach Bill Belichick’s announcement press conference as a dartboard with the caption “target practice” on it.

I’m not saying that the Tar Heels are high on the list of odds-on favorites to win the College Football Playoffs or anything like that. However, Belichick has put together a top-10 ranked class in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports, and is looking to make the same jump in the recruiting class of 2026.

North Carolina has brought in seven four-star transfers, including cornerback Thaddeus Dixon from Washington, offensive tackle Daniel King from Troy, linebacker Khmori House from Washington, edge rusher Smith Vilbert from Penn State, defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson from Florida, and Pryce Yates from UConn.

This will just add to the rivalry that has already ensued between these in-state rivals. In 2024, the last time they played, NC State came away with a 35-30 win. NC State has also won the last four games of this series, dating back to 2021. However, UNC football leads the all-time series 68-40-6. These two teams will meet this season on November 29th in Raleigh.
