Four-star QB recruit predicted to commit to LSU Tigers

Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis’s commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs has brought a whirlwind of outcomes. One of them will involve Georgia potentially losing out on another top quarterback from the class of 2026. Quarterback Bowe Bentley, who listed Georgia in his top three schools, was projected by 247Sports’ Crystal Ball to go to LSU.

Now, Bentley is down to just Oklahoma and LSU. Georgia is no longer in the mix for him, which makes sense because it is exceedingly rare for a school to land two elite quarterback prospects.

Bentley is a four-star quarterback recruit in the class of 2026. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound passer is a dual threat quarterback from Celina High School in Celina, Texas. He led Celina to a 16-0 record and their first state championship in Texas since 2007. Bentley has gotten comparisons to John Mateer from Oklahoma, according to 247Sports. He was also part of the Navy All-American Bowl.

Bentley also plays soccer and lacrosse at Celina High School. He is the seventh-best quarterback and 76th ranked prospect in the nation.

Bentley is scheduled to meet with Georgia on June 6. However, Georgia usually doesn’t recruit two quarterbacks that are four-stars or over in the same year. Bentley also has a visit scheduled with Oklahoma a week later, but his visit with LSU occurred on Mar. 30.

Georgia is in transition at quarterback following the transfer of Carson Beck to Miami. Currently, redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton has experience starting, but redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi is in contention for the starting job. Georgia also has freshmen quarterbacks Hezekiah Millender and Ryan Montgomery, who is currently rehabbing a torn ACL. In 2026, the group is expected be joined by Jared Curtis.
