A Georgia recruiting target is going to decide his commitment. Interior offensive lineman Jared Smith announced that his commitment date will be on May 23, according to On3. He’s choosing among his top four schools (Georgia, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Auburn).
Smith measures to 6-foot-4, 325 pounds. He plays high school football for Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Georgia. He’s ranked as a four-star recruit in the class of 2026.
The Georgia Bulldogs will host him on June 6 for an official visit. He also has an unofficial visit with Georgia on June 21.
Rutgers will host an official visit with Smith on May 30, but neither Georgia Tech nor Auburn has earned a future visit. On3’s predictor indicates he’ll commit to Georgia or Rutgers, so it could be a two-team competition. 247Sports predicts that Smith will commit to Rutgers.
If Smith were to commit, he’d be the second offensive lineman to commit to UGA, joining three-star offensive tackle Graham Houston in the class of 2026.
Jared Smith is the No. 26 interior offensive line prospect in the country and the No. 39 prospect from Georgia. He’s ranked as the No. 346 recruit in the nation in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
