MSU makes top 3 for in-state OL Khalief Canty of Detroit Cass Tech

Michigan State is one of three schools in the running for a big-time in-state offensive lineman prospect

A major in-state offensive lineman prospect from Detroit has included Michigan State as one of his three finalists.

Khalief Canty Jr. of Detroit announced on his top three schools on Tuesday, with the statement that his recruitment is still open. According to this post on social media platform X, Canty is down to Michigan State, Pitt and Missouri.

Canty is a three-star prospect in the 2026 class, and holds a recruiting ranking of 88.91, according to 247Sports’ composite. He is ranked as the No. 32 interior offensive lineman and No. 6 player from Michigan in the class.

Canty holds offers from 20 schools, according to 247Sports. Along with offers from his three finalists, Canty also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, North Carolina, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas A&M, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Charlotte.

According to 247Sports, Canty has already taken an official visit to North Carolina and is scheduled to now visit Michigan State and Missouri in the next month. Hopefully his visit to Michigan State goes well and the Spartans are able to lock up a commitment from a big-time in-state prospect.
