Ezavier Crowell sets commitment date for late June

Longhorns get recruiting update on Ezavier Crowell

The recruiting process for one of the Longhorns’ top targets is nearing an end. On Thursday, the second-best running back in the 2026 class, Ezavier Crowell, announced that he had changed his commitment date from December 31st to June 26th.

The talented running back is ranked as the third best player in his from Alabama by, 247Sports’. The other programs still in the running are Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Florida. It is no surprise that Crowell is being pursued by some of the top programs in the country as he has made headlines with his play.

During his high school career, Crowell has rushed for over 3,700 yards with 56 touchdowns. He has also been a threat in the passing game with 20 receptions and six receiving touchdowns. The Jackson High School product has the potential to be a future star and be the vocal point of any offense.

Next month will be key for teams still in the running, like Texas. In that span, Crowell is scheduled to visit his five finalists, including a trip to Austin on June 6. His last visit will be with Alabama, who, at the minute, is seen as the favorite. However, that could change if the Longhorns or any other finalists make a pitch that Crowell can’t turn down.

While the Longhorns have been busy adding to their 2026 class, few prospects have Crowell’s skill. Regardless of the matchup, he has been a human highlight reel and has found a way to score at will. He has shown he can transform any offense and should continue to improve at the college level.

The team that ends up with him will get a future star and a potential NFL Draft pick. Now, the clock begins to tick on the countdown to where Crowell will call home for his college career.
