BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football liked life at the top of the Big Ten last year.

The Hoosiers feel like they are poised to be a contender once again with coach Curt Cignetti having continued success in the transfer portal while retaining his top players. The team’s performance during the spring only reinforced that sentiment for Cignetti.

He saw very few holes on the roster coming out of camp and shared how pleased he was with the roster’s improved talent level.

Where is IU best off coming out of spring? Here’s a look at the Hoosiers’ top five position groups (listed in alphabetical order).

Cornerback

Indiana’s dominance against the run last season overshadowed the secondary’s strong performance.

The Hoosiers held opposing teams to 176.1 passing yards per game last season (tied for ninth best in the FBS), didn’t allow a single 300-yard passer and had more interceptions (15) than touchdowns allowed (11). There were only two teams in the country (Texas and Washington) that held opposing teams to fewer yards (5.8) per attempt.

Indiana has a chance to be even better thanks to the talent they have amassed at corner.
