Four-star defensive back names Georgia among top 6 schools

The Georgia Bulldogs are in the top schools for another elite recruit. Four-star defensive back CJ Hester listed Georgia in his top six schools. The Bulldogs will be competing with Florida, Auburn, Miami, Syracuse, and Iowa to land Hester.

Hester is a four-star recruit from the class of 2026. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back plays football for Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida. On3 considers Hester to be a cornerback recruit, while 247Sports considers him to be a safety.

Hester’s already gone on his official visit with Auburn on May 16. He has a visit scheduled with Georgia on June 13, and he has visits with Iowa, Syracuse, and Florida. On3’s predictor indicates that Hester will commit to Florida. He has also had an unofficial visit with Miami.

Georgia has done great work recruiting defensive backs. The Bulldogs landed four-star defensive backs Zech Fort and Jordan Smith, along with three-star safety Kealan Jones. If Hester were to commit to Georgia, then he could improve their 15th ranked recruiting class. The Bulldogs currently have nine commitments in the class of 2026.

Hester is the 20th ranked safety and 233rd ranked prospect in the nation for the class of 2026.
