Missouri football is back on track on the recruiting trail.
Four-star safety/linebacker Keenan Harris announced Friday that he has committed to Mizzou, instantly doubling the number of players pledged to the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class. Harris is heading into his senior year at St. Louis University High, making him the first in-state player to commit to Missouri in this cycle. He announced his decision to commit to Mizzou via his Instagram account.
Recently, most recruiting news has been unfavorable for MU. Two players — safety D’Montae Tims and defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy — announced recently that they have backed out of their commitments to Mizzou.
That caused Mizzou’s Class of 2026 to drop to just one committed player: Four-star, Pennsylvania-based quarterback Gavin Sidwar.
Now, the Tigers are back to plural commitments ahead of a seemingly important couple months on the recruiting calendar.
Harris, a St. Louis native, is the No. 5-ranked player in the state of Missouri in the Class of 2026, according to the recruiting service 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is rated as the No. 33 safety in this cycle and the No. 365 player nationally.
The early national signing period is still seven months away, so the Tigers still have some time to keep him on board. Harris, according to 247Sports, will officially visit Mizzou on June 20, which comes after visits to Oklahoma and Iowa on back-to-back weekends.
Because he appears to be able to play both safety and linebacker, he likely will be a good fit for Mizzou’s ‘Star’ safety position — a hybrid role between the secondary and the defensive front that program standout Daylan Carnell has played for the past few seasons.
