Wisconsin football recruiting 2026 target Kobe Cherry finalists

Wisconsin football made class of 2026 defensive lineman Kobe Cherry’s list of final schools on Friday.

The Badgers were listed along with Purdue and Indiana, each of which is an in-state program for the Greenwood, Indiana, native. Those three edged out other notable offers, including Louisville, Toledo, Washington and Minnesota.

247Sports lists Cherry as a three-star recruit, specifically ranked as the No. 112 defensive lineman in the class and No. 17 recruit from his home state. The service lists only one official visit on the schedule — to Indiana on June 6. It has yet to release any crystal ball predictions for his commitment.

Wisconsin is still prioritizing defensive line prospects in the class of 2026 after it recently saw top DL target King Liggins commit to Illinois. Several of the program’s top targets at the position are set for official visits in June, including Djidjou Bah (May 30), Arthur Scott (May 30) and Jermaine Polk (June 6). Cherry’s name may soon join that list.

Wisconsin’s class of 2026 currently ranks No. 43 in the nation with seven players committed. The program, which is looking for its first commitment since Aden Reeder on May 12, is off to a much slower start than in either of the first two years under Luke Fickell.
